Chapter by Chapter vocabualry words that your pupils may need to know the definition of whilst reading Onyeka and the Academy of the Sun.
 
Suggestions of how you can use this resource in your classroom:
 
•Print before each chapter and children can highlight the words they do/do not know. They can work in pairs or tables to share their knowledge and check definitions in a dictionary.
 
•Children can read the words and predict what will happen in this chapter based on the vocabulary that they can see.
 
•Use the words they do not know to find definitions and orally say sentences before writing sentences with them.
 
•‘Word Race’ Call out a word – the first person to form a sentence with the word wins a point for their table.
